An IVA or Individual Voluntary Arrangement is a form of UK personal Insolvency. Any UK resident that owes more than approx £20000-£25000 in personal unsecured debt can apply for an IVA. The benefits of an IVA are as follows
1) Interest and charges frozen
2) No more creditor letters or calls
3) An IVA lasts for 60 months / 5 years
4) The remainder of the unpaid debt is written off
