Debt Relief Order
NEW: Debt Relief Orders
Debt relief orders came into effect in April 2009. They are a form of Insolvency and allow people with a very low dispodable monthly income (£50 or under) to clear debts in a shorter period than originally contracted. A debt relief order is not suitable for all situations and the following is a brief list of how a person may qualify for a debt relief order.
1) Be unable to pay their debts
2) Have total unsecured liabilities / debts of no more than £15,000
3) Have total gross assets of less than £300
4) Have a disposable income of less than £50 per month after household expenditure
